Peels can also be included in a facial. This usually involves light peels using alphahydroxy acid. It is important to be gentle with the skin and to provide the client with after car information to maintain the healthy, youthful appearance for as long as possible. This can be accomplished through use of creams and lotions, and a good aesthetician will have products on hand to recommend and sell to a client. Many of these products will contain vitamins, minerals and fruit extracts such as cactus or cucumber to add nutrition to the skin on the client’s face. Masks are often used as they assist in exfoliation as well as relaxation. Some masks can be washed off with water, and others are peeled off by hand. Duration for wearing a mask will depend on the type of mask, but can be anywhere from three minutes up to 30 minutes, and sometimes can include the entire night. Many times these masks will include honey because it smoothes the skin and adds nutrients. Cucumber is also a popular choice.
