Advanced Hair Removal is a must read for any serious professional aesthetician or for that matter any other person with an extreme interest in this area. The book is written by Pamela Hill, an industry pioneer in aesthetics and the medical spa niche.

The book has wonderful information that will be found useful for all learning levels and will be a great resource for any aesthetician to have on a book shelf in the office for professional review when working with clients. But the smart aesthetician will take it home and use it as night time reading, improving the mind and enhancing professional skills. The text provides quite specific information relating to hair removal treatments and services including lasers, electrolysis and the histology and morphology of the hair follicle.

this book for industry professionals is without question, an extensive manual providing a modernized approach to the removal of hair and dispels half truths, old wives tales and rumors about the methods and techniques of the procedures. Designed to be used by either students or by practicing aestheticians it covers anatomy and physiology, interviewing of patients, charting techniques and practical information on how to growth a business in the field of hair removal, a much needed and sought after service. Providing documentation on treatment methods it uses a simple, easily understood and non intimidating approach, serving as a handbook for the reader and providing necessary information about hair removal.

The well qualified authors of the book, Pamela Hill, RN, is the Chief Executive Officer and president of Facial Aesthetics, the Pamela Hill Institute, and Pamela Hill Skin Care. Helen Bickmore received diplomas in the areas of beauty therapy, body treatments, massage and electrolysis in 1979 through two institutes: the London Collage of Fashion and the City Guilds of London Institute. Bickmore is a New York state licensed aesthetician and massage therapist and is a certified professional Electrologist. It is quite obvious to any reader, either casual or serious that the co-authors know their subject areas quite well, and that they are able to convey this information in an interesting manner that will keep the reader glued for the initial short term read. However, the long term value of this book is as a future resource.

When an aesthetician is consulting with a client having this book handy will provide an educational resource that will allow the aesthetician to help the client and increase income.

For an aesthetician, beautician, spa therapist or clinician in a medical spa, there is a book that is an invaluable tool for the skin care professional – Common Skin Diseases: A Handbook for the Aesthetician

The book addresses the common and even the not-so-common diseases and disorders that are at times seen on the skin. It describes what they look like, and what can be done about them. Through the liberal utilization of photographs, illustrations and descriptions Common Skin Diseases: A Handbook for the Aesthetician will assist the professional aesthetician in knowing what they are seeing and the proper way of handling these conditions. The book offers advice on how to avoid giving medical advice and medical diagnosis, and assists in understanding the common course of a disease. It provides a reasonable idea of what to expect, treatment of the disease, and client prognosis. Additionally the book outlines the common course of a disease, treatment of the disease, client prognosis and other relevant information.Positive Comments About The BookThe book has received praise from readers. One aesthetician wrote “Our profession desperately needs this type of book for reference.” Another reader said “’I definitely recommend this book.

The aesthetician is in physical contact with the skin of clients constantly, so having a good working knowledge of common skin diseases is vital. Imagine for instance seeing a client for waxing or another common procedure and noticing a skin rash. How do you handle that situation in a professional manner? What do you do when the client asks you for advice? An aesthetician isn’t a doctor and cannot perform a diagnosis for both ethical and legal reasons. But, the client needs to be answered. A book that would provide information on common skin conditions would be very helpful, and now it is available as well. The book Common Skin Diseases – A Handbook for the Aesthetician by renowned aesthetician Pamela Hill provides the aesthetician with knowledge and intellectual tools needed to work with clients who are not knowledgeable of skin problems. This can include unusual skin lesions and disorders.

Easy To Read Style and Full of Good Information

The book is written in an easy to read style, imparting knowledge in an understandable manner. It addresses both common and not-so-common diseases of the skin, tells the reader what they look like and what can be done about them. Through the use of photographs, illustrations and descriptions the book Common Skin Diseases – A Handbook for the Aesthetician helps the clinician to know exactly what type of disorder they may be looking at and gives an idea of what type of action can be taken.

The Aesthetician Should Avoid Giving Medical Advice

It is important for the aesthetician to avoid giving medical advice and this book covers that topic very well. The book provides advice on not giving advice and diagnosis while covering common sources of the various disorders and what should be expected. It goes over treatment of the various diseases, client prognosis, the common course of diseases, and aides the reader in understanding the difference between viral, fungal and systemic problems.

A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words

An ancient Chinese philosopher said that a picture is worth a thousand words, and the book takes that to heart by providing photographs and illustrations that will help many people to understand the subject. In our video age it is easier for many people to comprehend information when it is presented in a visual manner, but being able to read about the conditions also helps. This book, Common Skin Diseases – A Handbook for the Aesthetician by Pamela Hill, is an invaluable resource for any aesthetician.
